About the Journal
Contemporary Islamic Law and Governance is a peer-reviewed academic journal that focuses on the development and application of contemporary Islamic law in governance and society. The journal covers scholarly studies on Sharia law, Islamic economics and finance, Islamic family law, maqāṣid al-sharīʿah, and comparative Islamic law. It aims to provide an international forum for critical, normative, and comparative analyses addressing legal, ethical, and institutional challenges in Muslim societies and beyond.
The journal is published biannually, in February and August.
